Patricia is a 17 year old girl living in Accra, Ghana. She sells bananas for a
living and her mother begs for money on the street. It's a hard life.
Patricia came to us about a year ago asking for our help. Due to limited funds
there has been little we can do but we have tried to help whenever possible.
Last autumn they couldn't pay their rent and they were locked out of their rented
room with all their possessions inside. We managed to get that settled and they
were able to return to their home but they are still fighting simply to survive.
This last weekend Patricia came to John asking for help to be able to return to
school. She is attending a Business College. Very admirably, she is determined
to get her education despite her poverty. But she needed money to be able to
continue with her classes. As firm believers in education we considered this to be
a good cause and so we sent the needed funds right away. Patricia should be back
attending classes as soon as tomorrow.
